Welcome to my second video blog! Big thanks to Caitlin and Lydia K., whose questions I’ve answered in this week’s vlog:
So? Dish. What’s the dumbest thing YOU’VE ever done?
Note: I’ll be on a blog hiatus for the rest of the summer. I’ll see you back here after Labor Day with more posts and vlogs (thanks again for all your great questions – you’ve given me plenty to talk about!). In the meantime, you can find me on Twitter and Facebook, and I’m always reachable via email. And you know I’ll be stalking your blogs when I can! Happy summer, everyone!

You need to read the novel version of Blatty's "The Exorcist" or the follow up "Legion" if you want to get scared big time. Nice tattoo. I have one on my upper left shoulder. Maybe I can send you a picture?
I love both those questions, and your answers! That book sounds way creepy.
Hmmm, stupidist thing I've ever done… there's so many, it's hard to choose 🙂 I think I had a guardian angel through my teen years. I'll go with a funny one. When I was 15 I bleached my hair, and then a year or so later decided to go red. It didn't occur to me that it'd be best to dye it brown in between, so it didn't turn a shocking shade of pink. Fortunately, I was hanging with a lot of punk rock friends at the time, so it was totally rad for the weekend before I fixed it.
Have fun on your break. And there's an award for you on my blog!
Oh wow, thanks for picking my question to answer! In return, I'm definitely checking out Fangland, and just FYI, I'm blaming you if I get night-terrors…
Dumbest thing I've ever done is start writing a 100K book. Hahaha but seriously. I'm persevering for the sake of it.
Have a great summer break, Jennifer! We'll miss you!! 😀
You are a natural. Great Vlog. I was twenty-one when I walked in and had the biker dude, Sugarbear, mark up my shoulder with a moon and stars. And I think I already mentioned my move to London that lasted all of two weeks. That was probably the dumbest thing I did in my youth.
See you when you get back.
Agree with L.G., you are a natural. And I'll definately put "Fangland" in the queue.
Okay, self-deprecating synopsis. You know those smocks the bagboys wear at the grocery stores, the ones that hang below the knees and tie behind the back?
I'm loading a car's trunk with groceries, chatting up a cutie in the passenger seat as I plop bags in the trunk. Big gust of wind comes up JUST as I'm starting to close the lid.
Yep. Mom hears the trunk slam and presses on the accelerator.
Ever seen a 18-19 year old boy running like hell, pounding on the trunk of a car with one hand and trying to untie his smock/apron with the other?
Trust me. You don't want to. Not pretty.
I'm loving these vlogs, Jennifer! 🙂
As for a dumb thing I've done, well, let's just say it involved meeting a guy in an elevator and ending up in a tunnel with a sprained ankle. True story. -_-
I wanted a butterfly tat, in my 20's. Luckily, I'm in my 40's now and never got the opportunity.
The dumbest thing I ever did was bid $1500 on a man at a bachelor auction. There's more to the story but, yeah…it was dumb.
OMG, too funny. Your tattoo story sounds a lot like my ear piercing story. I think I was 19, too. I never had my ears pierced and then on a whim, I walked into a hairdresser who also pierced and got one ear pierced. Just the one. On purpose. It was my whole dare to be different phase. Not necessarily the stupidest thing I've ever done, but it was up there.
Whoever re-did your tatt did an incredible job. Very pretty.
Seriously, you are a vlogging master! I'm loving these posts. I honestly think I'd have to be seriously liquored up to even try it! And your tattoo is totally pretty now! 😉
Loving the vlogs! And now I must read Fangland. I just got a tattoo a few months ago–mostly because I have a wimpy pain tolerance and never knew what I wanted to place on my body for the rest of eternity until recently. Yours is beautiful!
Haha, such a great moral! But thank goodness you got it redone–it's beautiful!
Popping in from vacation to say another great vlog!!
Fangland, hmmm? If it scared you then I definitely have to read it!
I like your tattoo. My husband and I have matching ones on our back. He made me go first at this hole in the wall place and the guy came on to me the entire time he was doing mine in front of my husband! Tattoo guy took a break afterwards and I think went out back for an herbal refreshment before coming in to do my husband's tattoo. He then proceeded to come on to my husband the entire time in front of me!
I felt so cheated on.
The moral of this story is…do not base your decision on where to get a tattoo on a 2-for-1 special sign.
great episode 2. I cast Ming-Na as Sheila. it is fixed on my site.
So, who would you cast in a movie based on your book?
You're adorable and your VLOG IS AWESOME!!! I'm sad to see you off for the summer but I hope you have a good one!!
OMG, that was awesome! And you answered my question, which I actually thought you wouldn't. You're a natural vlogger! Keep them coming.
As for the dumbest thing I've ever done? Rollerbladed down First Ave in NYC and grabbed onto the back of the truck. I should be dead, but I came away unscathed.
You're adorable!
Enjoy your hiatus. I hope it's restful, but also allows you to do the things you need to.
You mean you're leaving us??? 🙁 Have fun but picture us giving you huge puppy eyes while you're gone.
I love your vlogs! Enjoy your blog break. 😀
Thanks for visiting, guys! I won't be posting, but I'll be around…
I'll have to put Fangland on my list! I'm always looking for a great book.
I'm thinking of getting two tiny (dime-sized) tattoos, one on the inside each wrist, of Chinese characters of my son and husband's names. I know I'm kind of old for that, but I've always wanted them. Yours looks great, btw!
And I'm gonna miss you while you're on hiatus! Glad I got a good fix this week. Enjoy your time off.
Ooohhh! I love author vlogs! You look great on camera, Jennifer.
Stupidest thing I've ever done? Where do I start?
Enjoy your blog break.
Oh no… something's happening to my computer and I can't see your vlog 🙁
I'll try later, though!
<3
Another excellent vlog, and good answers. I finished Creep last week, and I must say, I was hooked from start to finish!
So awesome to see you in action! Thanks for that book recommendation. I have to check that out. Of course, I will add it to my TBR list BENEATH yours. lol I'm getting there… 2 away!
So, um, yeah…. when I was 20 I got a tat too. It was the 90s… that's what my generation did. I actually planned mine tho and went on a first date to the tat parlor. A guy I'd been waiting around to ask me out, who already had tats, really wanted to be with me for my first one so we agreed and did the first date at a tat parlor thing. I don't really care about the tat (tribal design on back of my neck) anymore, but it makes for a fun memory.
Love your redone butterfly tho! Very pretty!
Great Blog!!! Love it!!!

Oh my gosh. When I was 19, I was thisclose to getting a tattoo on a whim. I'm so glad I didn't!
And that Fangland sounds good! I'm going to have to check that out.
I don't want the rest of August to pass too quickly, but I DO want you to hurry back!
I've done a few dumb things, but I've yet to get a tattoo.
Have a nice summer break.
