Look what got delivered yesterday:
Isn’t she pretty?
I’ve been a long-time BlackBerry user and I didn’t make this switch lightly. BlackBerry is a really great phone, and it’s what the majority of my friends use. I already miss BlackBerry’s Messenger feature, and right now I really miss the keyboard that has actual buttons (typing on iPhone’s touch screen is just awful right now… I’ve said so many things I didn’t mean to say!). I’m also not crazy that the iPhone doesn’t push my emails through the second they arrive on the server – the quickest setting is every 15 minutes unless I check them manually. Not a big deal, but I got spoiled by my BlackBerry.
Other than that, the phone is fabulous. I now have iBooks, and Winnie the Pooh came free – it looks amazing! Blogging, Facebook and Twitter also look better and are easier to navigate (which will help my productivity on these sites – my editor has encouraged me to increase my social networking efforts, and now I have no excuses), and having iTunes right on the phone is convenient.
Okay, now I’m going back to work. (I will not play Angry Birds, I will not play Angry Birds, I will not play Angry Birds… gee, maybe I’m not going to be as productive with my new phone as I thought!)
Does your phone help or hurt your productivity?
She's a beauty! Don't worry you'll get over it, then your productivity will increase 150% 🙂
Love the new blog look!

I was hooked on Angry Birds for all of December. Good luck with that. 😛
So pretty and shiny!! 🙂
My phone makes calls & that's about it, so it doesn't hurt me at all! 🙂
I fell into this trap a while back, so it's funny that you sound a lot like I did back then. I blogged about it both times — when I first got the iPhone 3G in 2008, and then the upgrade to the iPhone 4 in 2010. Both times I referred it as going over to the Dark Side, but I must admit I don't know how I would function without this phone.
Yours look really nice in white. It's about time those were released to the market!
Angry Birds!!!!! They make me ANGRY!!!!!!!!!
Good luck with staying away, muahahahahahaha!
And grats on the phone 🙂
she is pretty! does it come in purple?
She is absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately my phone has no bells or whistles… I can text and dial out and that's about it. But this definitely makes me think I need an upgrade!
I have an old school phone that does not hurt my productivity. I do, however, terribly miss Erik's iPhone. I used to snatch it away from him every evening to play Angry Birds for just an hour (which always seemed to morph into two or three). Since it broke, I have so much more time to myself! I do miss that game and those angry little birds. The yellow ones are soooo useless!
My phone is off from 9pm to 7am and I think I get 2 calls a day. It does not even connect to the internet. I am stone age.
The iPhone is a gateway device. Soon you'll be surrounded by your iMac and iPad. You'll forget about why you talked yourself into the Macbook Air (to write anywhere, you'll say).
First – Angry Birds. Then, Machinarium. By the time you look up years have passed. But those damn pigs will be dead and it'll be worth it. All worth it.
Welcome to the Beautiful side! :o)
If my phone was as pretty as your new one it would! Alas, the hubby won't let me get internet on my phone. He knows better. 😛
Angry Birds is the new Tetris. Sort of.
I'm tempted to buy stuffed, plush Angry Birds and chuck them around when people get piggish.
OOOOH!!!! PRETTY!!! Congrats!! Angry Birds and Pocket Frogs are stupid addicting… Good luck with not getting distracted 😉
Your new blog design is KILLER! hehe.
I have to say, I have a bad case of phone envy right now. I don't even own a smartphone. 🙁
Pretty!
I have an Android and it's definitely increased my productivity. I read blogs and use Twitter and Facebook on it and it's great! I'm sure once you get used to the touch screen you'll love your iPhone. 🙂
Lydia's comment cracked me up, lol!
I hope you grow to like the new tool.
Though we do not have the latest and greatest, phones just add to my workload–people know they can find me.
She is beautiful! I love my phone and I'm sure that it increases my productivity! Enjoy getting to know yours 🙂
Aw, I should call you a traitor for swtitching to the IPhone! LOL. I became a BlackBerry user after several years using Nokia – yep, I sold out, too.
I tend to keep my phone on silent when I'm working. But it is on vibrator…not sure which mode is better to be honest :o)
Haha, Angry Birds is one of my biggest distractions!
I am cry-laughing at those auto-correct fails. Awesome. I have the same phone I was so excited to buy five years ago after seeing it in a magazine so, uh, it pretty much doesn't affect my productivity at all. I dig the keyboard on the Blackberry but the iPhone is very shiny.

I'm so behind the times and the technology. I recently got a cell phone for the first time in almost ten years. It can surf the web and stuff, but I bought it for emergency purposes only. I don't want to get sucked into all the goodies. (And hey, I can do all that when I'm home, which is where I spend most of my time.)
I don't have text or web on my phone. Last month, our family plan used 35 minutes combined not counting phone to phone within the plan. As you can see, my cell phone is a non entity. I am an anachronism.
I use my phone to text and sometimes to talk. I refuse to use it for anything else because of my addictive issues with game playing…
Congrats on taking the leap! 😀 (And hey, you can stand to be a little unproductive. You just sold your SECOND book and your first one isn't out yet!)
Angry Birds is OK, just don't touch Tiny Wings. I repeat, DON'T TOUCH TINY WINGS. It's 99 cents, it's cute and IT'S ADDICTIVE
Next you need Words With Friends. My screen name is KarenPeterson.
Oh, and I love your new header!
I've got an HTC Desire which is pretty similar, and I love it… that was, until my best friend turned up with the new, slimmer, smaller version. Curse her!
I haven't been visiting many blogs lately cos I've been too busy playing Angry Birds…
YAY!! It's so pretty! I'm getting one too! SOON! *high five*
Like my addiction to checking my email constantly isn't bad enough? I'm resisting these smartphone enablers!!!!!!!!!
So let me get this straight. Instead of you guys tsk-tsking about my new Angry Birds addiction, you're all SUGGESTING OTHER GAMES I could play? Enablers, all of you!
@Ben: You gotta know that if you tell me not to touch Tiny Wings, I'm SO going to touch Tiny Wings.
Pocket Frogs? Machinarium? Words With Friends?
I'll be seeing you guys at the Apple Games Addiction Support Group in a few months…
Ok the Apps are the only reason I want an I phone…
Just stopping by from KAren's blog!

I have an "old fashioned" flip phone. With real buttons! The only cool thing I do with it is listen to audiobooks on my bluetooth while I'm at work. I get some strange looks when I start laughing at something nobody else can hear though!
A friend of mine got me playing Angry Birds on his phone and I loved it! 🙂 I'm probably better off not to be able to play it on my phone or I wouldn't get any books listened to…I mean work done during the day! 🙂
I just popped over from Karen's blog. Congrats on being blog of the week! 🙂
