The WIP is indeed Shitty, but at least I’m starting to figure out why (or should I say where) it’s Shitty, so I can fix it.
I plan for it to be Not So Shitty by the end of March.
That’s all I wanted to say.
How YOU doin’?

They all start somewhere! You've got to see the problems before you can fix them so no one else will see them, ever!
Hope the revisions leave you feeling charged again. That's usually the result for me.
1/2 way through new WIP 1st draft and awaiting feedback from readers on one which will be up for querying next.
Always another story on the horizon (or in my mind at least!)
Just think: it can only get better!
As for me, revision work is slow. It's that day job – gets in the way of my writing. 🙂
Any progress is good progress. Keep it up!
Shitty is a good starting point and when it's Shitty, it can't get any worse, right? ;o)
I'm having a tough time attacking the end of my WIP. I thought I had a clear idea of how this was going to end, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe it's that I just don't want this to end. I mean, once it ends, the gloriously awesome writing ends, leaving me to go back and see how Shitty my own work is and how much I need to fix.
Putting a finger on the why of it is what's important, so it sounds like you're in a good place. Good luck keeping things in the air!
Just chugging along here, but I’m formulating a plan too.
Good goal! Nice! Feels really good to know WHY something doesn't work.
It's nice to know that published authors start out with shitty parts in their WIPs too. I'm getting into down into the nitty gritty shitty at the moment too! My goal, since I only have about 100 pages left to go through for this rewrite is to have it less shitty by mid-Februray…And then I'll tear it apart some more!
If there was a way to get about 30 hours out of every 24 hour day…I would be great!
Why can't someone invent a time-loop device? Or maybe I could just clone myself for my day job? No one would notice…
I'm on my 3rd shitty draft of MIDNIGHT and, may I just say, it's a little less shitty this time around! Yay me! And yay you for setting a not-so-shitty date. How many times can I use the word shitty in a comment? Apparently four times. Yay me!
Good luck with your writing goals!
I'm trying to keep my story's timeline together.
Shitty > Not Shitty
There really should be an MS Word function key for that.
March is a pretty impressive target. Good luck with it!
Getting my feet back under me, and got a good chunk written today including two very short but strangely difficult scenes. So… Whew.
That's always a good plan!
Not so shitty is good! Best of luck!
I'm glad that you are narrowing it down. I am working through some of poo of my own on my desk, but wading through it enough, I am confident that I will make it to the other side and that it will mold nicely into the right stuff after it filters through the proper waste treatment plants (betas) hehe.
Have a great day!
Yep, I'm in the middle of revising/rewriting an old manuscript and it's bad. Good luck!
Not so good. Wondering now if what I thought was not-so-shitty is actually quite shitty after all. [sigh]
It's a relief to hear that everyone understands the frustration of the Shitty draft. Thanks, guys!
