To my great disappointment, I wasn’t able to attend Jeff Lindsay‘s book signing at the extremely awesome Seattle Mystery Bookshop on Friday afternoon. So I did the next best thing… I sent Steve instead.
Being the third person in line, my husband was able to snag this pic of the genius man who created Dexter:
And get me a signed copy of Jeff’s latest book, DEXTER IS DELICIOUS:
Any fans of DEXTER out there? I can’t wait for Season 5 to start!
(Don’t forget to stop by Killer Chicks and let us know what you’ve got going on this week. It’s Status Check Monday!)
I am a huge fan of DEXTER, though I thought I would be put off by his sociopathic nature. The concept of a serial killer preying only on serial killers snared me.
In fact, I have made rabid fans of most of my blood center … unfortunately : I never see my DVD's of the new season because they are passed from hand to hand to hand to hand. I am my blood center's Netflix. I envy you your autographed copy of the book, though I do not enjoy the books nearly as much as I do the series. Roland
I'm with Roland – the serial killer preying only on serial killers drew me in! I'm a HUGE fan. How cool of Steve to go for you! I couldn't get Erik to do that. No complaints, though. The hubster is not a big fantasy fan (not a fan at all, actually) yet he's seen every Harry Potter on opening night with me. He's a trooper!
Your DH is a doll! I see no icepicks in his future 😉
I've only read the first book and seen the first two seasons of the show, but I'll admit to liking the book better. Jeff Lindsay's way with words (esp alliteration) is delightful!
Cool that you go the book. I like the dedication.
I do better reading scary books than watching scary shows or movies.
That is so cool. I haven't yet seen the show, but ever since Joann's post referring to an article he wrote, I've been interested to check it out. Going to see if Netflix has it available.
How cool! Congrats! Can't wait for the next season to start – 8 or 9 days now.
I'm on season 4 at present and seriously considering reading Lindsay's work. Nice signed copy. Score!
Thanks for the comments, guys! Definitely pick up the first book if you haven't already. He's got an incredible voice, and the book is dark and rich and funny. It was because I was so smitten with the first book that I decided to rent the first season… completely hooked from there. The TV show and the books deviate considerably after Season 1 (Book 1), so you can enjoy both without one spoiling the other.
